BUMI in Belgium is a non-profit association (A.S.B.L.) created in 2010 with the aim of supporting the humanitarian and social actions carried out by the NGO BUMI in DRC.
The ASBL is composed of a General Assembly, including a Board of Directors which meets periodically, as well as about twenty active members and volunteers who carry out various activities in Belgium and elsewhere.
The Chair of the Board of Directors is currently held by Ms Isabelle Kibassa-Maliba, Provincial deputy of Walloon Brabant for Economy, Agriculture, Tourism, Education, Folklore. She is supported in her functions by 7 other administrators.
Close to the populations of the North and the diaspora to the problems of development, education and health, by presenting the solutions brought by BUMI.
Intended to support the actions carried out by BUMI in the DRC.
Representing BUMI to partners and potential donors in Belgium and other Northern countries, putting volunteers in touch with them.
Notably in terms of communication tools, assistance in setting up management tools, project preparation, etc.
Over the years, many activities that fall within its 4 areas of intervention have been put in place. The profits generated by these activities support the financing of the different programmes and actions of BUMI DRC in order to allow the non-profit organisation to continue to carry out its mission.
Here are some examples:
Organization of meals, sporting events and other fundraising campaigns.
Loyalty of sponsors and donors, collection of donations in cash or in kind.
Participation in events related to BUMI's action (conferences, workshops, etc.).
Organization of the sending of international volunteers.
